I am Hoban
I am Hoban Stories
“I’m very grateful for my time at Hoban. My wonderful teachers and Hoban’s emphasis on academic excellence prepared me exceptionally well for the intellectual rigor I encountered at Harvard.”– Michael Mure Class of 2005
“I have found the classrooms of Hoban to have the perfect balance of rigor and lightheartedness. The curriculum is quite challenging, and I must push myself in order to achieve success, but there is not a day that goes by in which I don’t laugh and have a great time.” – Pete Nagy (on left) Class of 2017
“Hoban’s curriculum made the transition to college easy. The Holy Cross tradition cultivated my desire to become a nurse and volunteer in Africa. Hoban provided me with the necessary stepping stones to reach my goals.” – Erin Clark Class of 2008

Hoban offers financial aid, scholarships and a work-study program.
Hoban is committed to providing scholarships and need-based assistance to give all qualified students the opportunity to receive a Hoban education. Hoban’s Work Study program provides tuition credit for a student’s work on the school’s cleaning crew during the summer and throughout the school year.
Students do not have to be Catholic to attend Hoban
The 20 percent of Hoban’s non-Catholic student body is represented by a number of different faiths.
Our educational philosophy stems from the Holy Cross Core Values based on the writings of Blessed Basil Moreau, the founder of the Congregation of Holy Cross in 1837. Moreau believed the first duty of educators was to develop people of values. He was convinced knowledge without values is empty.
One of Moreau’s key points of emphasis was inclusivity: “It would be a serious mistake to open a school imagining that all students will be alike in character and conduct.” – Christian Education, 1856
